FlowBu Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how FlowBu LLC (“FlowBu,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles personal information in connection with the FlowBu website, purchases, license delivery, communications, marketing, and FlowBu desktop application.
1. The Short Version
FlowBu is local-first desktop software.
The FlowBu desktop application does not collect your in-app activity, feature usage, social media content, briefs, calendars, approvals, reports, archives, notes, or local files.
The app does not automatically collect crash reports or routine diagnostic reports.
Our website may use analytics, cookies, advertising tags, and similar technologies. We also collect limited information when you purchase FlowBu, receive a license, contact us, or opt into marketing emails.
2. Information We Collect
Purchase and Order Information
When you purchase FlowBu, Stripe processes checkout and payment information.
We may receive limited information from Stripe, including:
- Your email address
- Order, payment, or checkout reference
- Payment status
- Purchase date
- Amount paid
- Marketing-consent status
- Refund, dispute, or chargeback status
We do not receive or store your full payment-card number.
License and Fulfillment Information
We may store limited information needed to issue and manage FlowBu licenses, including:
- Purchase email address
- License identifier
- License edition
- Stripe order or checkout reference
- License status
- Issued date
- Refunded, revoked, restored, or replacement status and related dates
We use this information to issue licenses, deliver purchases, process refunds, prevent fraud, address payment disputes, respond to communications, and manage legitimate license replacement requests.
Transactional Email Information
We use a transactional email provider to send purchase and license-delivery messages, including license keys, download links, receipts or order-related notices, and essential service communications.

If you contact us, submit a form, or request information, we may collect your name, email address, and information you include in your message.
Website Analytics, Cookies, and Advertising
The FlowBu website may use Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, cookies, pixels, conversion tags, and similar technologies.
These tools may collect or process information such as:

- Browser and device information
- Approximate location
- Pages viewed
- Referral source
- Website interactions
- Advertising campaign, click, or conversion information
- Cookie identifiers and similar online identifiers
We use this information to understand site traffic, measure campaign performance, improve the website, measure purchases and other conversions, and evaluate advertising effectiveness.
We may use Google advertising products or other advertising platforms to measure conversions, create audiences, and show FlowBu-related advertising to people who previously visited the website.
These technologies apply to the FlowBu website and advertising activity only. They do not track use of the FlowBu desktop application.
3. Information FlowBu Does Not Collect From the Desktop App
Unless you separately send it to us, FlowBu does not automatically collect:
- Briefs, calendars, archives, reports, notes, posts, or other work data
- In-app usage analytics or feature activity
- Routine crash reports or diagnostic reports
- Social media credentials or social account information
- Local files or database contents
- Machine fingerprints, hardware IDs, or device-binding information
- Payment-card information
4. Periodic License Status Checks
FlowBu may periodically check whether a license remains active when the application is open and internet access is available.
This request sends an opaque license identifier to our license-status service. It does not send your email address, full license key, FlowBu content, local database, usage activity, or a machine fingerprint.
We use the result only to confirm whether a license remains active, refunded, revoked, or otherwise invalid.
5. How We Use Information
We may use personal information to:
- Process purchases and deliver licenses
- Send download links, license keys, receipts, and essential service messages
- Maintain order and license records
- Process refunds and respond to payment disputes
- Prevent fraud, abuse, chargeback activity, and unauthorized license sharing
- Respond to questions and purchase-related communications
- Send marketing communications where you have opted in or where otherwise permitted by law
- Operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve our website, checkout, licensing, and delivery systems
- Comply with tax, accounting, legal, and recordkeeping obligations
6. Service Providers and Advertising Partners
We may share limited information with providers that help us operate FlowBu, including:
- Stripe for payment processing
- Zoho ZeptoMail for transactional license and delivery emails
- Cloudflare for website hosting, security, Workers, license-status services, and order/license database infrastructure
- Google for website analytics, tag management, advertising measurement, and related marketing tools
- Other advertising platforms we may use to measure campaign performance or deliver advertising
We do not sell personal information for money.
However, certain analytics and advertising activities may be considered “sharing” of personal information or targeted advertising under some privacy laws.
7. Marketing Emails and Advertising Choices
We send marketing emails only when you opt in or where otherwise permitted by applicable law.
You may unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in the email or by contacting info@flowbu.io.
You may also control many cookie and advertising preferences through your browser settings, device settings, and applicable advertising-platform tools.
Even if you opt out of marketing communications, we may still send non-promotional messages about purchases, licenses, refunds, security, or related communications.
8. Data Retention
We retain purchase, license, communication, analytics, and related records only as long as reasonably necessary for licensing, delivery, refunds, fraud prevention, accounting, security, legal compliance, dispute resolution, and legitimate business operations.
9. Your Privacy Rights and Requests
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, or deletion of certain personal information we hold about you.

We may need to verify your identity before responding. We may retain certain information when necessary for fraud prevention, licensing, accounting, legal compliance, dispute resolution, or other legitimate purposes.
10. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect personal information.
No website, email service, payment system, or storage method is completely secure. Please keep your FlowBu license key private and avoid sending highly sensitive information by unencrypted email.
11. Children’s Privacy
FlowBu is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

12. International Users
FlowBu is operated from the United States. If you access the website or purchase FlowBu from outside the United States, your information may be processed in the United States and other locations where our service providers operate.
